Saint John Airport Partners with BOT

Airport is drop off location for Bare Necessities Campaign

The Saint John Airport announced on October 21st that passengers using the Saint John Airport can drop off items for the Bare Necessities Campaign as part of the Saint John Board of Trade’s seasonal collection program.

A collection box has been set up outside the security area so that passengers and others visiting the terminal can donate items.

“The Saint John Airport is a very accessible location. As such, it is a great spot for people to drop off items to donate to local charities. In addition, passengers carrying items that do not meet current security regulations can now donate those items to a local charity prior to entering the security area,” stated Colleen Mitchell, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Saint John Airport.

The goal of the Board of Trade’s ninth annual “Bare Necessities” campaign is to provide women’s shelters, food banks and other charitable organizations packages with ‘little but necessary’ personal care items, just in time for the holiday season.

Mrs. Mitchell reinforced the Airport’s support for this program, “We are pleased to support this community endeavor. As many of the items donated are toiletry items from travelers, the airport is a logical fit with this program. We congratulate the Board of Trade on this initiative and hope to partner on other community programs in the future.”

The Bare Necessities Campaign continues until November 26.
