Saint John Transit to Offer Free wi-fi to Customers

The Saint John Transit Commission is pleased to announce the roll-out of free Internet access on board the entire fleet. The free service will benefit a wide range of passengers who will have internet access to check email, surf the web, and use social media applications such as Facebook and Twitter.

Saint John Transit is deploying a wireless infrastructure as a way to enhance the customer experience and leverage technology to boost ridership.

Saint John Transit provides an eco-friendly sustainable alternative for daily commutes in the City of Saint John and surrounding areas. Saint John Transit is committed to being a key partner in supporting alternative transportation and believes that the new wi-fi service will be well utilized and appreciated by customers.

By providing free wi-fi access, Saint John Transit buses are the now the newest additions to the Freespots program, a Saint John Board of Trade initiative that covers the city with free wireless internet access. Learn more about the Freespots program at: www.freespots.ca

Funding for this initiative was made available through the Public Transit Capital Trust. The Trust supports capital investments in public transit and infrastructure both as a means to reduce traffic congestion and to reduce carbon dioxide and other emissions.
