Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) has created a capital fundraising campaign cabinet to raise $15-million to invest in improving health care in this region through the completion of research laboratories, giving medical students the opportunity to develop research experience, and by the creation of a Research Chair in Occupational Medicine.
“The campaign cabinet has come together to raise the funds to build a comprehensive medical research program that will help to educate the province’s next generation of physicians and researchers, thereby improving the quality of life for New Brunswick residents,” said Dr. Tom Marrie, dean of Dalhousie Medical School.
Marrie said an important part of this program is the establishment of a research chair in occupational medicine, which will help to achieve the goal of reducing workplace absences and injuries and keeping our workforce healthy and productive.
