The Saint John Port Authority is pleased to announce that one of its major lessees, Logistec Stevedoring (Atlantic) Inc., has renewed their commitment to the Port of Saint to the end of this decade.
"This lease renewal and extension demonstrates the strategic vision and long-term commitment Logistec has made to our Port and illustrates that the Saint John Port Authority’s efforts to expand and diversify business at the Port are starting to bear fruit," noted Jim Quinn, President & CEO of the Saint John Port Authority.
The recently signed lease extension continues Logistec’s presence at the Port at Navy Island Terminal until the end of 2020. Logistec also operates Rodney Container Terminal at the Port of Saint John under a separate lease.
"Logistec is pleased to extend this lease which demonstrates our commitment to Saint John and is fully supportive of the leadership the Saint John Port Authority is exhibiting in its efforts to strengthen current business as well as looking for new growth opportunities for diversification. We are pleased to be a part of this," commented Madeleine Paquin, President and CEO of Logistec Corporation.
The recently signed agreement also returns control of one cargo shed to the Port Authority which is part of the Port’s overall strategy to create value added services for cargo shippers, particularly relevant to the Port’s North-South marketing focus.
"We see the Port of Saint John as a key contributor to much needed economic growth for our City and region and we are fully committed to new opportunities which are on the horizon," noted Jim Quinn in closing.
